nicole & sean will be married this summer in north carolina

she, a southern belle

him, a southern californian

and “them” together couldn’t be better.

since the wedding will be in nicole’s home state of north carolina they chose to have their engagement photos taken here in southern ca

we headed out to villa park in orange county (sean’s alum) for their engagement session

it turned out beautifully.

aaron, lauren, nathan, and little baby to come.

nathan was not a fan of his first birthday cake.

he was actually very upset when we put the cars in the cake. haha

he did however, love the bubbles.

Jacob + Ruth: Michigan

i didn’t realize it at the time but 3 short months at north park university was all it took for a couple of crazy ladies to turn into my life long friends.

i met esther my freshman year of college at north park university, chicago.

she was the girl i described to brent as, “you know… the girl with the bottle of ABC gum on her desk?” and he’d say, esther? yes, esther.

that ABC gum may have been a conversation starter but it didn’t take long for deeper more meaningful conversations to start.

i quickly became a “regular” in esther’s room, we’d chat about school, life, and family. which is how i came to know of ruth.

better known to me as: ruthie goose.

when i received the email from ruthie that she was getting married, i was ecstatic! especially because she was asking me to photograph it!

of course i said, yes and within a few weeks i had the contract signed, flight booked, and i was ready for michigan.

ruthie and jacob put so much time and energy into their wedding.

she made the flowers,

games,

center pieces,

favors for the guests,

and

pretty much anything that you see in purple

it was a pleasure to not only spend a few days with ruthie, jacob, esther, and their families but an honor to be a small part of such a big occasion.

i look forward to seeing these two grow in their marriage, friendship, and faith.

your wedding will have a special place in my heart for a very long time to come!

and then there’s the first look, i’m a sucker for “first looks”

i throw on my 70-200 and back as far away as possible

i know how important it is for couples to see each other for the very first time, whether it’s when she walks down the aisle or when they have time alone together before the ceremony

either way, i typically tear up and so do they.

it’s the most vulnerable time for not only the bride but the groom as well… and i get to capture that.

like i said, i’m a sucker.

nope.

whoops! i spoke to soon! she nailed them just before getting in the car!

and then there’s me, trying to get out of the way

what do you do when one of your bridesmaids has a baby RIGHT before your wedding??

improvise of course! ha.

they went straight for the cake… it was an ice cream cake !

Jenni & Steve: Part 3

before i show the details from the reception i have to share Jenni’s photo with her brother. when he was a kid, jenni told him that he would be the ring bear at her wedding. he took that as actually being a bear, hence the photo below.

at this point i no longer wondered where jenni got her fun, outgoing, lovable personality… her dad and brother belted out (when i say belted i mean in the most awful italian pavarotti voice ever) HAPPY BIRTHDAY to jenni. once they began singing they asked all the guests to join in with their best ‘pavarotti’ voices too!

and then there was the garter… for being such a petite bride jenni sure has big panties

everyone was super boring and didn’t dance at all….

Jenni and Steve: Part 2

some of my favorite wedding pics, ever. i adore these two together.

It’s not very often that the groom announces to the entire wedding in the middle of the vows, that 1 time Jenni may or may not have farted… hence the shock, laughter, and smack on the arm Steve received just after hearing what he said.

Jenni’s brother thought it was hilarious, too!
