can’t say enough great things about tim and skyler. their personalities, their friends and families, all around good people. the kind of wedding you want to be a guest at, especially when the entire reception jumps on the dance floor and sings “piano man” as a group. the last time i saw this all of the men sang with their pants on the ground, thankfully not this go around 🙂
she was bound and determined to get him in the water yesterday
it took some coaxing through the first half of the session
she did it.
in the water then went.
we headed out to long beach for chase and heather’s engagement pictures
they were engaged right near the lighthouse and wanted to capture that moment all over again.
this time chase was able to relax,
as the engagement story goes it was a hot sunny california day when chase and heather walked down to the lighthouse.
chase had a long pea coat on (strange thought heather) but she didn’t ask him about it
good thing cuz where else would he be able to hide a ring?
as soon as they got to the right spot chase got down on his knee and asked heather to be his wife.
once she said yes, he was able to take the pea coat off, and breath.
if anyone struggles with defining their “style” of photography, that would be, me.
i mix all sorts of photography styles in my work.
if i shoot the exact same way with every session or edit the exact same way, then i get bored.
i’m always trying to expand my “look”
i always have my couples parents/grandparents in the back of my mind
more than likely they do not want a photo of the bride’s dress in focus and the bride in the background out of focus.
as much as i have fun with being creative or “artsy” i try to always give my couples at least 1 classic, posed image for mom and dad/grandparents.
rania and dan had their engagement photos taken this weekend (half were in a bowling alley, some where down town, and the rest were on the beach)
this photo is exactly what i had in mind for their parents.
classic and beautiful.
it would take me forever and a day to tell you about my relationship with megan
we met as wee little ladies (i think between 2-4 years old), we’ve carpooled to school, had the chicken pocks together (my sister, megan and i), had many sleep overs (but one of us would get scared and call our parents to pick us up), we’ve teamed up at wednesday night bible study to fight the boys who were being mean, etc … you know typical girl stuff.
that is the megan i know.
THIS megan, megan with norm, NOT the megan i know.
i spend hours with couples, even days sometimes.
typically i’m alone with them, just the 3 of us. i get to see their interactions both big and small.
the way they talk to each other, the different smiles they give to one another, the way they hold each other in their arms.
i see and document as much love as i can find between the couple.
norm, you talk to megan like she’s a princess, you smile at her when she isn’t looking at you, you hold her as if it’s the first and last time you’ll do so.
you adore my friend.
you’ve turned her into the girl who wants to brag about her man on facebook, tell her friends what he did for her on their date, and you’ve taken down her wall.
i watched her with you, she hangs on the words that you say to her, she trusts your hugs, adores your smiles, and has found the love of her life.
and we can’t forget zuma! she loved pictures for about 5 minutes, then she was over it.
saw the chair on the left… had an idea. it turned into the image on the right.
ladies… he’s baaaackkk!!
little kingston is back on the blog showing off his little beach bod.
i think there was some sort of “squeak” in the chair that made them all laugh, right guys?
