n+b and baby on the way
too keep from over sharing on instagram, i thought it would be best to blog this one … a personal all time fav
j and g
she has the sweetest most infectious laugh and a smile that can light up any room, this mama to be is going to rock motherhood.
i’ve been there from engagement to wedding and now almost baby, it’s reasons like this that i keep my client base small. having a personal relationship with each of my couples means i am there for them to celebrate all of their adventures, milestones, and greatest moments.
photography is the best.
baby mama
as we wrap up 2013 i can’t help but be excited for what is to come in 2014
my son is now 3 months old
he sleeps from about 10 pm- 7:30 am pretty much everyday
we are finally in our home that we bought at the end of last year- it’s a long story- i’m just thankful we can actually live there now.
AND
one of my best friends will soon have her very first baby
she and i have known each other since about the 3rd grade
we are best of friends
we were engaged the same year
i was in her wedding
her husband married my husband and i
here were are being “us” at my wedding in 2009
and we were married in the same year
so it’s only fitting that we will be raising our boys only months apart.
baby logan will make his arrival early 2014 and i can not wait!
…back when they were gangstas….
if you know them you’ll understand this photo, if not, well there are plenty more for photos for you to see so don’t judge us on this one, k?
yep, she’s this great.
we’ll end on this one.
cuz it’s just perfect.

i was taken advantage of
if you read my last blog you read that my husband took advantage of me 9 months ago and i’m so glad he did.  (mind you i was a willing participant)Â
we welcomed our sweet little Austin-Wade into the world on the 26th of september.
here are just a few pics (seeing as i didn’t announce my pregnancy to anyone, unless you actually saw me in person) you’ll understand why i’m only posting a few photos.
i like to keep somethings to myself.
but this kid is too flippin cute to not share just a few
(ok , ok i’ll be the first to admit, at first he was pretty funky looking but he’s shaped up since then)
first up, me trying to get to my husband for a maternity photo before the camera went off… that’s the only maternity picture you’ll see of me, ever.
here’s what my husband captured in the hospital and then some “selfies” of me and the little guy that we’ve taken over the past couple of weeks.
we’re starting school early.Â
an apple for the teacher and a fancy outfit for his 3 week photo.
school work is hard, so we use the desk for naps, too.
that’s all for now.
i’ve shot too many weddings this summer to not have blogged a few for you.
those will come soon.
ashlee/chris/luke + coming soon: emilee
she’s a bloggin fool (like updates daily) so it’s best i blog ashlee before she harasses me for not blogging 🙂
this little lady is due with their 2nd baby in just a few weeks you can read her whole story here (her blog is much more interesting then mine and she’s pretty funny too.)
miracle baby
as you’ve probably figured out by now, writing is not my thing, as much as i wish that it were, it’s not.
i swear when im laying in bed at night, i think about the posts i’ll be writing for the week and in my head it sounds like i’m freakin shakespeare.
i get to my office and i got nothin’.
with that being said and with much trepidation, i’ll try to tell you the story of my sister and her journey to motherhood…
i’m one of her baby sisters (if you don’t already know, i’m a twin- hollaaaa!)
mom says my sis prayed for baby sisters when she was younger (prayer was answered)
we arrived
…she then prayed for us to go back to heaven…
personally i find that hard to believe, i’m pretty lovable.Â
it could have been the barbies of hers that we gave beautiful haircuts to,
the clothing we ruined,
or the times we’d spy on her, write down what she was doing and report it back to mom and dad… but i’m just guessing.
any who, somewhere along the way (as i’m sure happens with most siblings) we became friends.
i’ve watched my sister go through some dark and rough patches
without going into to much detail about her personal life we prayed that one day it would change.
prayer answered.
she met her husband one january just 3 or so years ago
they were engaged that april and married that june.
she knew that she immediately wanted to try to have children.
after many attempts and doctors visits it was determined that it was just not possible for them at the moment.
i can’t image how my sister and her husband felt (or how anyone feels when they want something so badly, like a child, but are told they can not have one- naturally)
i would assume that i would be depressed, mad, angry, and questioning, why.
not my sister.
she handled herself with such grace and showed such a faithfulness in God and His timing, His will. (something i’ll admire in her forever)
they decided on adoption.
i could go on and on about how i LOVE adoptions, the idea of them, the outcome of them, everything.
within a few short months of putting in their papers with the case worker they got the call, their baby was arriving. just after their wedding anniversary.
they drove to the hospital, met their daughter, and met the parents who would be doing the most selfless thing imaginable….
they gave my sister her family. they gave her the title of “mom”
with that, i formally introduce to you for the very first time my niece, sydney grace.
we’ll start at the hospital with the very first meeting
i’m fairly certain my sister called everyone in her contacts and whoever else she could reach.
meeting her “pappy” for the first time
meeting her uncle, brent
meeting her other granny
aunt brooke (my twinsy)
first family picture.
her newborn session that we shot a few days later
and 3 month session (can you tell i’ve been holding off on these pictures until everything was final? ) now you’ll see a lot more of s.g.
christmas hat from her nanny.
yesterday we gathered at the courthouse for the final meeting with the judge-the adoption is now official!
mr. parker {newborn}
he pokes her belly, ding dong! she laughs, robbie!
they giggled and laughed with each other the entire session.
such excitement over the arrival of their little man (well we thought he’d be “little”- turned out he was 9 lbs), mr. parker.
thankful to be there to capture my longtime friends enjoying such an incredible time in their lives.
now meet, parker robert.
he was camera shy at first, then he warmed up to us.
kings first birthday
i showed you an incredible reception yesterday, so why not give you something just as exceptional? in a 1 year olds birthday.
i don’t really know if i’ll ever have a birthday as cool as kingston’s…
…: maybe one day :…
but i think the odds are stacked against me
i supposed photographing kingston’s birthday is as close as i’ll get
so, i’ll take it, gladly.
orange county 1 year olds… your jealously can start now.
Hello.
clearly i haven’t blogged or shared anything in quiet some time, clearly.
i’ve moved, taken a small vacation, had meetings to discuss 2013, and
i haven’t shot in a week.
i’m thankful for time off to gather my thoughts, lay on the sofa, and spend time with my husband, without pulling out my camera
(that doesn’t mean i didn’t pull out my small camera, this is my favorite thing to do, so obviously there were some candids around my house for the holidays)
but
when i’m back to “work”, i LOVE coming back to capture moments like this.
looking forward to sharing months of past shoots that i haven’t shared yet, sharing some more tips on photography, and spending time chatting with you.
keepin it classy
you’ve seen a lot of maternity sessions up on the blog lately
but i think this one you’ll find a bit different and sweet.
elena wanted didn’t want to be covered up in her shoot
she wants to show off her little miracle.
and why not when you look and feel as great as she does, right?!?
C + V {maternity}
week after week we’d sit on the bleachers watching our husbands play softball
i’d bring an obscene amount of candy and we’d sit and chat about anything under the sun.
but somehow we’d always come back to the topic of her being a mom.
she has wanted to be a mom for as long as she can remember.
so when i finally got the phone call that she was pregnant i teared up.
tears of joy of course.
when i meet little chase in a few weeks i’m sure i’ll tear up again
actually i’m guessing chase will be crying too, but for a completely different purpose 🙂
git r done
pregnant in the first year of marriage,
understandable seeing how drop dead gorgeous amber is 🙂
the king.
ladies… he’s baaaackkk!!
little kingston is back on the blog showing off his little beach bod.
mika.
i don’t know what you were all up to 9 months ago,
i mean i know what you were up to, but man!
i have been shooting so many newborn sessions recentlyÂ
it’s crazy!
and incredible.
if i don’t say it enough,
thank you.
thank you for allowing me into your new world.
for allowing me the honor of capturing your miracle.
i truly do consider what i do an honor-you trust me enough to capture the most unique, special, and timeless moments in your life.
a perfect example of what i’m referring to, sweet little mika.
my favorite newborn photo to date: mika and her dad.
thank you, sarah + adam!
reagan—>newborn<—-
brianna had little reagan in less than 1 hour, no pain meds, nothin.
rockstar?
I think so.
evan + brianna
easily one of the best parts about what i do is being a part of a new beginning
i’m watching/documenting/experiencing and freezing time.
i had been dying to try something new and different for this session.
i wanted to get out of orange county and try something a bit more simple.
i threw the idea out to brianna, she said she’d be happy to let me experiment!
little did she know i’d be having them meet me at 4:45 am to get to our destination by sunrise 🙂
it was freezing, beautiful, quiet, and perfect.
exactly what i was hoping for.
thankfully we shot these photos last week as brianna had reagan on saturday !
i’ll be sharing those photos soon.
in the meantime here is their maternity session
i couldn’t decide if i liked it in color or black & white, so here’s both.
..:the peña family:…
these people make me smile.
aaron, lauren, nathan, and little baby to come.
nathan was not a fan of his first birthday cake.
he was actually very upset when we put the cars in the cake. haha
he did however, love the bubbles.
looking forward to baby #2!
Kingston Cash
the long awaited post is finally here: kingston cash’s newborn/3 month session.
as I write 3 month session I realize just how far behind on my blog I really am.  but when you have the most amazing baby nursery, baby outfits, and most stylish kid ever who really cares, right?…right?
wait no longer the much anticipated, never duplicated, kingston cash is blogged.
